Thinking of adding glass eyes again
I am always searching for a dependable, reliable manufacture of glass eyes. Seems like they either don't have the sizes, or colors in stock when I need to reorder or their prices are just out of this world. So I am again checking around for new suppliers and I think I have found some. Stay tuned as I check out these opportunities.
New products are in

New addition to the family
Meet Rosie! Rosie was dumped off in a nearby town in Feb 2010 and a friend was keeping her fed and dry but since she had so many pets, she could not let Rosie into the house. So we decided to take her home with us. I have to say that since she was spayed, she has become the most warm, friendly, attention seeking feline! Just loves to be held and stroked.... a good addition

weed barrier
Many people have asked about the dry creek bed and how we went about creating it. Well, first we mapped the course of the bed. This actually was done when it was raining like mad outside. Our intent was to redirect some of the water away from the house and keep the lawn more dry (it was a sponge in the spring). Then we rototilled the grass off, keeping the creek bed only 2 inches deep, laid a weed barrier fabric, and covered it with 2 inch and 3 inch stones for the border. We added smaller stones in the bed itself.
This fabric is top notch! I know you can get others for less at some home improvement centers, but this one has the highest rating for being the best barrier against grass and weeds growing up through it. Totally a great advantage because when you are putting this much work into something, you sure as heck don't want to spend days weeding!

My Cats love their window perches
Got some new window perches
for the cats as they are always trying to look out the window so I got several and they love them! Totally recommend them to any cat lover! I read about many of them but I have to say, these are heavy duty and will not disappoint. I attached them to the wall but you don't have to. You can easily just hook them over the existing window and move it anytime you want. I just wanted a permanent place for them. Delivery was fast! And I had them up in no time. Someone is always laying on one of them so if you have a cat that loves watching the outdoors. this is the best perch for your cat friend.

Dry Creek Bed is coming along
Well this is day 7 of the dry creek bed project. ..... Thank goodness we are done with it and now have a bunch of stones to use up in other places. I have to tell you, this is one of the longest, hardest projects for 2 people to do. The dry creek bed is 255 feet long and 2 and a half feet wide. I rototillered the path - which basically took off the grass down to dirt level. Put in the weed mat, Fuzzy side down, stapled it down with 4 inch metal staples, then made a border with larger stones and filled in the middle with smaller stones. Oh, my aching back..... Lets see if I can post some pictures.

My Taco
Taco, is the Manx, Maine Coon cat that we adopted several years ago. Lately we noticed that he had lost a bit of weight and wasn't really eating all that much. We became concerned and took him to the vet. Turns out that on the whole, he is pretty healthy. The only thing that was commented on was that he had some sugar in his urine. The vet started talking blood tests, insulin, and well, it was too much to digest at one time..... came home and when I had my wits about me again, I decided to do some checking for info on the net. .... funny how we now turn to the internet when looking up information anymore. Used to be, we took the docs word as gospel and that was that. Now we turn to the net to dig up more info. Any way, found a Pet wellness site that had a pretty good reputation for one of its natural meds for diabetic cats. Figured that since he had some sugar, it would help him..... so I plunked down my money (okay, paypal) and waited. Shipped the same day and I got it fast.... He's been on it for a couple of days and already he is eating more. Seems to be at the food bowl a lot more now. I have my fingers crossed that it really helps him.
Life and Facebook
Okay, I must admit that I have been totally lax in writing my blog. I promise that I will do better. Right now I must somehow bring over my friends from Facebook so that I have more friends here! LOL So off to Facebook to do some asking for help....
